Bletchley Dragons outdoor training sessions (Copy)

In line with the lifting of government restrictions and following the advice from our governing body, WAKO GB, I'm pleased to announce that we will be running outdoor sessions from Sunday 26th July.

I've put together the information below, but if I have missed anything and you have questions, please get in touch!

Days/times:

Classes will be held on Sundays at 4pm, Mondays at 6pm and Thursdays at 6pm.

All classes will be 1:30 duration (any younger students who are not able to complete a full class, you are welcome to leave early).

Location:

We will be using the sports field in Browns Wood, less than 4 miles from Bletchley, and have agreement from the Milton Keynes Council to use the space behind the cycle track. There is free  public parking available. Please note, there are no toilets available.

The address is off Elgar Grove, Browns Wood, Milton Keynes, MK7 8DX.

Clothing:

It is a normal class so weather-dependent you should be wearing your normal ECKA gi/ECKA t-shirt, with your belt (when you arrive). As it is a public space, trainers must be worn. You will not be able to train if you are wearing any other type of footwear.

Sun protection:

We will be training outside, so please wear sun protection! We will allow sunglasses and sensible headwear when sunny.

Adverse weather:

If it is light rain then we plan to still train outside, but would advise against wearing normal ECKA kit and wear normal PE/gym clothing.

If the weather is really bad, we will have to resort to an online session. We will inform you one hour before the scheduled start date (via this email list), if we are not meeting at the session, or we will not be training in normal kit.

Social distancing:

We MUST adhere to WAKO guidelines, so therefore will be sticking to 2m social distancing.

We will have cones spread out accordingly to indicate where everyone will be located during the class.

Partner work:

Partner work will be restricted to remote one-step sparring, or shadow boxing. We cannot breach the 2m rule, so no padwork or sparring at the moment.

Fees:

Class fees will return to their normal rates, obviously previous family discounts will be honoured.

Payments will be due 1st August, so if you wish to take up this offer please let us know straight away and we will use the previous direct debit details from this date.

However, if your job situation is still impacted by the pandemic, please get in touch.

Class numbers:

Classes are restricted to a maximum size of 30. So you will need to book into each session by contacting:

bookings@bletchleydragons.co.uk

If you cannot make a session you have booked in for, please let us know so we can release your space for someone else.

We are hoping the Coronation Hall will reopen in September, so this might only be for end of July and August, upon which we will consider all available options.
